Free Rachel Allen Recipe E-Book

As a self-confessed cookbook addict, I love the freebie ‘tasters’ that do the rounds when there’s  a new one on the publisher’s list. Sometimes they take the form of little booklets slipped into newspapers, sometimes there’s a free app, and in this case, it’s a free downloadable ‘Recip-E-book’, or with my prehistoric computer, a PDF document.

This time it’s from the lovely Rachel Allen, and sponsored by KerryGold.  And at *free* it’s a darn-sight more attractive right now than the shelves and shelves of Christmas cookbooks, starting at a wince-inducing €20.  Yes, there’s a great big lump of sodding butter dumped in every deliciously glossy and stylised shot, but there you go, nothing’s entirely for free in this world. And let’s face, everything tastes better with butter.

It’s like people who complain about Facebook advertising. So you want the programme you use for free, every day, on your computer, tablet and phone, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and you don’t think you should pay for it in any fashion, even one that doesn’t involve using your actual money? Well, I hope it keeps fine for you.

Anyways, back to the e-book, it features a variety of different recipes, everything from a heavenly-looking Sole a la Meuniere to a Summer Almond Cake with Lavender Icing, the latter part being of particular interest to me as it might finally give me some use for the only plant I’ve managed not to kill. Yet.

Download the free e-book right here.
